Healthy Habit #1 Lemon Salt Water

Every morning, as soon as I wake up, I chug a 16 ounce glass of water. When there are a couple ounces left in the glass, I squeeze half a lemon or lime and add one teaspoon of Pink Himalayan Sea Salt. When you first start out, just do a 1/2 teaspoon.

This is really good for hydration and increasing your energy through improving your adrenal function.

When you wake up in the morning, your body hasn’t had liquids for 8 hours, or so. By drinking a full pint of water, you are hydrating your cells, and telling them, it’s time to wake up and move!

Your adrenals are trying to lower the potassium and increase sodium, so by drinking the salt, you give them a boost and take some pressure off of them

If you are on a Ketogenic lifestyle, this gives you a boost of a much needed electrolyte, sodium. My goal is one tablespoon of salt a day, which gives me about 5,000 mg sodium. This helps alleviate calf cramps and the greatly dreaded Keto Flu.
